Dr. Lynne Gallitz has lived in Northern Virginia since elementary school (for you natives, she attended Rockledge Elm, Springdale Elm, Fred Lynn Middle, Rippon Middle, and Woodbridge HS). She attended Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in both Biology and Environmental Studies. Having a special place in her heart for Georgia-the rest of her family lives there-she was bound and determined to become a Georgia Bulldog herself. Moving to Athens, Georgia, after graduation where she dabbled in GIS (Geographic Information Systems = mapping), she established residency to apply for veterinary school. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and moved back to Northern Virginia. She has been practicing small animal medicine in this area since graduation, joining Ballston Animal Hospital in August 2006.
Her favorite activities outside work are playing Ultimate Frisbee, hanging out with friends, watching football-mostly college (it’s her southern religion-Go Dawgs!), cooking/grilling, in general being outside in nice weather, and staying active with the DC Dawgs Alumni group. She lives in Arlington with her husband, son, daughter, and two dogs Barley & AJ!
